Moon Anniversary

I couldn’t let July go by without making some mention of the Moon.  As we know it’s been 40 years this month since man first walked on the moon.

NASA’s Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter, or LRO, has returned its first imagery of the Apollo moon landing sites.

  1. No, I missed it. Rats!
There is a pretty good chapter on it in Phil Plait’s book ‘Bad Astronomy’ (He’s a friend of Adam’s). He does a good job of debunking the conspiracy theories.

It never occurred to me, growing up, to question the fact that man went to the moon. I’m glad it’s true.

  2. I’m not quite sure why people would question it. As you’re picture clearly shows, there is the luna lander sitting on the grey sand of the moon.
